Focus and Scope

MIKIA: Mimbar Ilmiah Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak (Maternal and Neonatal Health Journal) is an open access journal (e-journal) which publishes the scientific works for health practitioners and researchers. The focus and scopes of the journal include maternal and neonatal health. Submitted papers can be written in Indonesian for initial review stage by editors and further review process by minimum two reviewers.

The MIKIA Editorial team welcome and invite researchers from around the world to submit their papers (original research article, systematic review, and case study) for publication in this journal. All papers are published as soon as they have been accepted.

These include:

  2. Women's health reproductive cycle
  3. Toddler growth and development
  4. Family planning
  5. Health promotion in maternal and neonatal
  6. Goverment program on maternal and neonatal

Peer Review Process

Publication of articles in MIKIA is dependent solely on scientific validity and coherence as judged by our editors and/or peer reviewers, who will also assess whether the writing is comprehensible and whether the work represents a useful contribution to the field. MIKIA acknowledged the effort and suggestions made by its reviewers.

The manuscript is reviewed by the Editor, and if of sufficient standard, sent for review by at least two members of the reviewers who come from various institutions selected by the journal team based on their expertise. Submitted paper are evaluated by double blind peer review for contribution, originality, relevance and presentation.

The results are acceptable without correction, received with small corrections, received with many corrections and rejected. The sending author is given the opportunity to improve the article based on the advice received from the reviewer. Certain information whether articles received and published or rejected is given to the author of the sender in writing. The duration of review process can be 1-3 months.


Publication Frequency

MIKIA Journal will be published on on May and November (2 issues per year).


Open Access Policy

MIKIA: Mimbar Ilmiah Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak (Maternal and Neonatal Health Journal)  provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. MIKIA will not charge subscription or access fees. Users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of all articles in MIKIA without any commercial intention.


Publication Ethics

MIKIA: Mimbar Ilmiah Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak (Maternal and Neonatal Health Journal) is a peer-reviewed journal. This journal follows guidelines from Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) facing all aspects of publication ethics and, in particular, how to handle cases of research and publication misconduct.  This statement clarifies ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewer­­­­­ and the publisher (Ocean Learning Center).

MIKIA: Mimbar Ilmiah Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak (Maternal and Neonatal Health Journal) are dedicated to following best practices on ethical matters, errors and retractions. The prevention of publication malpractice is one of the important responsibilities of the editorial board. Any kind of unethical behavior is not acceptable, and the journals do not tolerate plagiarism in any form.

MIKIA adapts COPE to meet high quality standard of ethics for publisher, editors, authors, and reviewers. As an essential issue, publication ethics needs to be explained clearly to improve the quality of the research worldwide. In this part, we explain the standard for editors, authors, and reviewers. Publisher don’t have right to interfere with the integrity of the contents and only support to publish in timely manner.

Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Publication: 200000.00 (IDR)
If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs.

If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you will have an opportunity to waive each fee. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work.
